Varus ARAM build suggest how to play and what items to buy. The main stats you need are ArP, AD, and AP for apparent reasons when choosing an item. These three combined give your elemental damage, which scales up with each upgrade throughout the game. To take full advantage of these early upgrades, you should go straight into AD. And not AS because AD gives a higher return than AS in terms of effectiveness:AP:AD:Damage: Attack Speed, etc. Varus Aram builds the most increased traffic among all other varus-related websites.
Runes of varus ARAM:
Most people start with the offense because they are by far the most important ones in this build. You will need magic pen reds, attack speed quints, two flat ads, or one flat ad + 1 ad /LVL seals (or even mix it up with15% armor seals). As for your yellow runes, you can have movement speed, hp per level, or some mr/armor.
Items of Varus ARAM build:
Sorcerer boots are the best choice on varus. It is because he benefits from a magic pen more than attack speed. And you also get cooldown reduction. So it fits perfectly with how we want to play this champion. Movement speed won’t help us much because we will be chasing our enemies down.
Option if you feel your support is tanky enough, so you don’t need armor/mr. The early attack speed helps your passive. But you have a less magic pen when combined with sorcerer boots.
Masteries are the usual 21/9/0 masteries wherein the offense you focus on armor penetration + magic penetration while in defense you stack armor, mr, and hp. For utility, people take mana regen per level, improved recall because it gets annoying when your support can’t leave the lane—or getting experience when recalling because his stupid teammates are attacking the turret. They also take neutral monster buffs duration, which is nice if your team takes red/blue buff after level 5 or 6. You don’t want to take any other mastery than this because you’re not judging, just ap varus.
Sorcerer’s Shoes or Berserker’s Greaves:
Sorcerer’s Shoes if you go full Ap. If not, then Berserker’s Greaves for more damage output early game and for chasing enemies down.
If your team doesn’t need the armor and magic resistance, feel free to switch it out with mercury treads because they offer a nice amount of magic resistance and tenacity, which is always great on any champion. It could be good to switch it out against an ad-heavy team as well, but I don’t recommend doing this if your support doesn’t have many tanky items (ex: Janna/Sona/Nami) because otherwise, they will become squishy and die very quickly in team fights.
Masamune & Muramana:
This item is essential to varus Aram build because of the 20% CDR, which means you will be able to spam your abilities more often, which makes up for the lack of attack speed. It gives you mana, which will make up for any attack mana problems early game. It also builds into the Muramana, which offers extra damage to your basic attacks after using an ability. So if you don’t get Manamune, it might be wrong.
Kraken’s Slaying Edge:
This item fits excellent on Varus Aram build because of its passives and stats after getting stacks. It also does some great magic damage. So at this point, your basic attacks are doing so much more damage with Masamune. And lastly, it makes farming minions a lot easier with the extra range. So try to get as many minions kills as possible before moving into team fights.
Guinsoo’s Rageblade is especially important if you’re against another ad champion with no cc. You will have 15% more attack speed which is great for last hitting minions, poking enemies with your Q ability, and basic attacking whoever you want dead. And the stacks are easy to get, so don’t be afraid of spamming abilities or farming until you have enough for this item.
Don’t rush Guinsoo’s Rageblade too early in the game if they have a lot of CC on their team because it is very vulnerable in that state. If their team consists mainly of ad champions, however, then grab it whenever you can.
Statikk Shiv is very useful on Varus Aram to build until you reach 40% attack speed, grab Statikk Shiv if you are sure it wouldn’t be a waste because the extra movement speed and attack speed will help out.
The crits on this will deal 500+ damage, so it’s beneficial in close team fights or 1v1s. And don’t forget that it gives 100% a critical chance which helps out a lot late game, especially when they start building armor against you.
Some people like getting Guardian Angel because of its passive. It might even consider taking the revive mastery in the offense tree because Varus is better off with something that gives him more attack speed, damage, or even armor penetration. This shield will block one attack, but you have to remember that it just increases the time it takes to kill you by 1 second instead of saving you from a certain death which can sometimes be a problem late game when everyone builds enough AD and they don’t focus your squishier teammates.
