Mining Ethereum Classic: What You Need to Know

Last Updated on March 27, 2024 by Aiman Emaan

Anyone is able to design and utilize decentralized apps on the Ethereum Classic (ETC pool) platform, which is a smart contract environment. Check out the official website and the block explorer if you want to learn more about Ethereum Classic. You may do so at your leisure. On this page dedicated to Ethereum Classic, you’ll also find an overview of Ethereum Classic stats as well as links to other useful resources.

Acquire the necessary hardware

Ethereum Classic may be mined successfully using graphics processing units (GPU) and application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) mining rigs.

It is not possible to mine Ethereum Classic using CPU cards in an effective manner.

Visit our Miners page to learn more about the hardware that generates the greatest revenue while mining Ethereum Classic.

Obtain an address for your wallet.

If you do not already have a wallet address, it is imperative that you get one as soon as possible. To be eligible to collect the mining rewards you have earned, you will need an Ethereum Classic wallet address.

Every user of f2pool who achieves the payment threshold, which is currently set at 0.1 ETC, receives a portion of the mining earnings on a daily basis.

You may use an exchange like Binance or Coinbase, which comes highly recommended by us, or you could use the Cobo Wallet. Note: When selecting a wallet provider or exchange, you should always do your own research before making a decision.

Register for an account with

Before you can begin mining Ethereum Classic, you will need to sign up for an account with f2pool. Please click here to register for an account if you do not already have one.

Create a name for the account. This is going to be necessary for the setup. You are allowed to establish as many subaccounts as you need in order to keep track of your mining equipment.

Install and configure mining software.

If you wish to mine Ethereum Classic using a graphics processing unit (GPU), some popular choices are GMiner and NBMiner.

After you have finished downloading the mining program of your choice, you will need to decompress it, then locate the start.bat or start.cmd file, right-click on it and choose Edit from the menu that appears.

Replace the instructions that are already in the file with the ones from the chart below that match up to the mining program that you have selected to use.

GMinerminer.exe –algo etchash –server –user account_name.worker_name
NBMinernbminer -a etchash -o stratum+tcp:// -u account_name.worker_name

You should substitute the name of your f2pool account or subaccount for the account name.

After that, make sure the start file is saved, and then quit. When you are ready to begin mining, double-click the start file to get started.

ASICs are used for mining.

On the configuration page of your ASIC mining equipment, you will need to provide the following information:

Pool: stratum+tcp:/ is the URL for the pool.

Account Name and Worker Name Format: accountName.workerName

Your pick is the password.

Note the following:

The worker name is completely voluntary. However, if you want your monitoring to be as effective as possible, you should link each mining equipment to its own unique worker name.

Start mining!

Your mining equipment is now prepared for action! In either your dashboard or our f2pool app, you have the ability to manage and monitor several aspects of your account, including your hash rate, income, and payments.
