Human rights are important because they can help us live better lives. People have many different views of human rights, but here are some examples:
* Women should be able to wear what they want without being judged.
* Everyone should be allowed access to medical care.
* Everyone has the right to worship or not worship any god(s) that they choose.
No one person’s view is “right”, and no one person’s view is “wrong.” That would make it like saying your opinion about art (or anything else subjective) is the only correct way to think about it; thus, all other opinions are wrong. Human rights are not an opinion; they are based on factual evidence. And people disagree with human rights at their own risk. The text of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights enforces that everyone is born with these rights, and no one can take them away. Yet, all over the world, many people’s human rights are being threatened. In America, some women don’t have access to birth control or abortions. Some people have been arrested for having a bible in their hotel room or wearing religious clothing. These things violate human rights because they go against the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (and other international treaties).
People may disagree about what is right and what is wrong, but if we hope to live together in peace, then we must respect each other’s opinions, beliefs, religions, etc., even if they’re different from ours. Otherwise, disagreements may escalate to violence.
When disagreements take place, we need to talk about them and work things out.
For example, the Westboro Baptist Church believes that everyone is going to hell, so they protest at funerals. Their right to free speech allows them to do this. But others’ human rights may be threatened because those people might feel scared or hurt by those protests. In order for those people’s rights not to be violated, then a different approach may need to be taken — a non-violent one, perhaps.
People in America have recently been protesting in favor of gay marriage. Their protests are protected by their right to free speech and assembly, too. However, some people may disagree with these protests — for example, because they believe that homosexuality is wrong — and those people’s human rights may be threatened when they’re exposed to something that goes against their beliefs. In order for their rights not to be violated, then different approaches need to be taken.
Everyone has equal human rights on an international scale. Everyone must be treated by the law equally regardless of their religious beliefs, sexuality, ethnicity, etc. if someone is being discriminated against, then that person can take legal action with the help of a team of experienced lawyers who specialize in human rights abuse cases. People have fought and died for many years so that people all over the world would be able to enjoy basic human rights, yet there are still some people who do not adhere to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Non-violence is always the best way to deal with such an issue. In the UK, for example, if you suffer from a human rights abuse issue, you can ask for legal advice from a team of human rights lawyers. They will be able to advise you accordingly if you can take your case or issue to court or not.
