Conti ransomware has been around since early 2021, but in 2022, it’s still a huge threat. This group has carried out over 400 cyberattacks all over the world, with the majority of them located in the US. For example, there was the Shutterfly data breach in December 2021.
In addition, this gang has asked for amounts as high as $25 million. This makes their demands some of the highest in history.
It’s also been found that the Conti group supports the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which can mean future efforts to help Russia in cyberattacks.

The group carries out its attacks by sending out phishing emails and exploiting internet-facing applications that aren’t well protected. While you might lose some data, it’s better than losing a significant amount of money and possibly all of your data.
