Enduro is all about adventure, so there is nothing more Enduro than heading out to somewhere new to ride your bike. Those familiar local trails are great, but a true enduro course that you have never tried before brings a different dimension to your bike experience, and with some of the best locations in the world on offer, the USA is really the place to be.
Before you strap on your new motocross graphics and head out though, take a look at our list of the best enduro riding locations in America today, and find some inspiration for your next, great ride.
Austin, Texas
Austin is a great starting point for a number of trails, but we think that the relatively short run from Bee Caves to Texas Hill is one to enjoy. It takes you about 90 miles on dirt roads with a couple of stream crossings to overcome along the way.
Its an easy route that you can take at a relaxing pace, giving you the chance to take in the amazing countryside along the way. There are places to eat when you arrive in Texas Hill, including at the General Store, still giving plenty of time for the return journey.
Canyon Country, American Southwest
Enduro is all about adventures, so while Moab is the go-to for dirt bike riding, we can think a bit bigger with these bikes. Taking in Moab itself, as well as Arches, The Grand Canyon and Zion, there are trails, dirt roads and tarmac covering thousands of miles. The result is Enduro heaven, you could spend months here and never do the same route twice.
Whether you start out from one of the popular locations like Las Vegas or head to one area for some fun riding, you can find something to suit every ability and taste.
The Coastline of California
For road bikers and car enthusiasts, the Pacific Coast Highway is one of those legendary routes to enjoy. For enduro riders with their MX graphics and long travel suspension, that road journey would be a bit too tame. But you can follow that coastal route, with an off-road twist.
Between Eureka and San Diego, you can travel almost completely off the beaten track. Drive through a tunnel in a mighty redwood tree, tackle the sandy terrain dotted with ancient Joshua trees and challenge yourself on steep rocky passes that carve your way between the mountains. But that is not the only adventure you can find, right along the coast there are offroad options to explore and new places to discover.
The Rocky Mountain Pass, Colorado
If you like spectacular views and challenging riding, there are few places in the world that can compete with Colorado. Arriving here you are faced with thousands of square miles of forest trails, rock climbs, stream crossings and more. This is one of the most popular enduro destinations in the country, and the parking areas are full of people like you, looking for adventure.
Taconic State Park, New York
Hidden away in Columbia County, the small village of Copake Falls is surrounded by some of the very best riding in the country. Taconic State Park to the east has organized, graded routes including everything from gentle beginner trails through the picturesque forestry to hard charging rocky routes to challenge the most experienced riders. Routes are well signposted, and everything is laid out to make your adventure as easy as possible.
Also close by is the Bish Bash Falls State Park, just over the state line in Massachusetts, with more great riding as well as the tallest falls in the state that give the park its name.
Variety, Adventure and Fun
All over the USA there are great places to ride, this selection features those we think provide some of the best ridingexperience out there, and offer a wide variety of challenges and conditions to try. Other options include Bald Eagle State Forest Park in Pennsylvania, with over 300 miles of trails inside a dense, difficult to ride forested area that will test any rider. Prudhoe Bay in Alaska also offers amazing riding in the kind of terrain you cannot find anywhere else.
Enduro in the USA really can be anything you want it to be, and you will have a great time whatever you choose. Hook up your moto with the best dirt bike graphics out there and ride till you’re lost!
