If you’ve started working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic, or if you’ve always worked from home, you know the importance of a good home office.

A home office allows you to separate your work life from your home life, even when you never leave the house. But is your home office inspiring your creativity and productivity?

If you’re already working on small, home interior design, why not change up your office as well? We have a few home office interior design tips to help. Keep reading to learn more.

1. Adjust Your Lighting

Have you considered whether or not the way that you light your home office is really ideal? Not all lights are great for inspiration and productivity, so why not change it up?

First, figure out what kinds of light features you want in the room. While traditional offices have boring overhead lights, you have the opportunity to make your lighting whatever you want it to be.

We love the idea of including neon light signs on the walls that brighten up the room. You can also find a nice replacement lamp shade and get rid of the old and dingy one that came with your lamp.

Consider the light’s color next. Cool-toned lights might wake you up, but they can also cause headaches. You can control the amount of light in close spaces, such as restrooms, by changing the color of the partitions. If the light is too warm, consider changing the color of the toilet partitions to calm the atmosphere.

Try out different light colors to see what makes you feel most productive.

Finally, if you’re able to, incorporate some natural light into your office. Natural light can make people feel happier and more productive while they work.

2. Hang Some Decorations

Are your walls boring and barren? Why not add some flair to keep yourself interested and creative?

Try making your own DIY art. This will stimulate your creativity and give you something fun to look at while you’re working. Even if you’re not an artist, you can do acrylic pouring to make fantastic and colorful designs.

Also, consider hanging fun calendars and motivational posters. Even silly posters (like the classic “hang in there” cat) can lighten your mood when you’re busy with hard projects.

3. Change Up Your Furniture

Sometimes all you need to inspire yourself is a new furniture layout.

Have you always had your desk against the same wall? Why not move it to another one? Better yet, why not place a floating desk in your closet for a completely new experience?

Your office is whatever you want it to be. It should be functional for you, but it can also be stylish.

If you’re bored of your furniture but you don’t have the money for a brand new set, consider repainting some of it or going to local thrift stores to find furniture that you can repurpose.

You’ll be shocked at how much of a difference a simple change of furniture can make.
