It has been a hot minute since Riot’s hit Netflix series aired its season finale, leaving its audience and fans of the League of Legends wanting more. Fortunately for them, Riot has integrated the Arcane series into its own gaming titles and has collaborated with other gaming companies to expand the series reach. One of the games that featured a collaboration with Riot was Fortnite which featured a Jinx crossover skin. What is Fortnite?
Epic Game’s Fortnite is a survival battle royale game wherein players are pitted against each other, and their main objective is to eliminate other players and be the last one standing. Gamers with Fortnite accounts have their characters airdropped into a small island via a sky bus where they will scavenge items and materials to help them survive the battle. There are tons of weapons, health consumables, and armor scattered across the map, so it’s a “first come, first serve” kind of thing. What makes Fortnite stand out from other battle royale games like Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Warzone is that the game includes a build feature wherein players build walls, stairs, or roofs during battle. These buildings can serve as ramps to get to higher ground or as shields to block incoming enemy bullets.
What is Riot’s Netflix series, Arcane?
Fans of the League of Legends game have been asking its developers to try their hand in making series or movies because of their quality music videos and cinematics. The gaming studio has answered, and Riot has been making its move on creating various gaming titles in different genres and shows on TV platforms like Netflix. The Arcane series was an ambitious project for the development team of Riot since the series served as their first entry into the world of television or online streaming series.
The show was met with outstanding success as fans of Riot, new audiences, and critics lauded the series’ visuals, soundtrack, and story. The show was such a success that Riot used the hype it generated to collaborate with other gaming titles. The gaming studio added cosmetics and skins into its own games such as League of Legends, Valorant, LoR, and TFT that are based on the series. Riot has also reached out to other games such as Fortnite, Among Us, and Call of Duty which resulted in Arcane skins appearing in these titles.
More Fortnite x Arcane
Initially, the collaboration between Riot’s series and Epic Games only resulted in an Arcane Jinx skin being included in the game. Fortnite is well-known for making collaborations with other games and shows like Naruto, God of War, and even Marvel’s Avengers. It was no surprise for fans to see the game collaborate with the highly popular and successful Arcane series. The Arcane Jinx skin was only available for a few weeks before it was removed from the shop to make way for the next collab skins; however, data miners seem to have discovered some plans regarding the Fortnite X Arcane crossover cosmetics.
Data miners have leaked several pieces of information showing that a new Arcane skin may be coming to the game. Based on the leaks, it seems that League of Legends’ champion Vi is also making its way to the popular battle royale game. Data miners leaked Vi’s Fortnite avatar as well as other cosmetics that will be included in her bundle. Here is the list of items that will come from the Arcane Vi bundle when it comes out:
- Vi Outfit
- Doll Backpack
- Vi Emote
- Jayce’s Hammer (Pickax)
- Special Loading Screen
Other than the actual skin, the other items are subject to change since Epic Games hasn’t made an official announcement yet. Data miners have also revealed that the Arcane Jinx skin might make a return to the item shop. The hype that the hit Netflix series has certainly hasn’t died down yet, so it is expected that a lot of Fortnite players will be more than happy when these skins arrive in the shop.
The release date for the second collaboration event between Riot and Fortnite has not been announced yet. Data miners have yet to determine whether Caitlyn and Jayce will make an entry into Fortnite too. In the meantime, fans of the game can still enjoy the Hawkeye crossover event. Players can buy Clint Barton, Kate Bishop, or the Hawkeye bundle from the Fortnite item shop. For fans of the Marvel universe, it’s time to get these limited-edition skins before they exit the shop.
