The spa, in its different forms, has been a staple of relaxation and pampering for millennia. However, it can be prohibitively expensive for a lot of people, and if you are one of those people, you might have wondered a time or two whether you could make your own spa at home. You will be happy to know that it is not impossible. Keep reading to find out how to make your own in-home spa area.

Stock Up On Essential Oils

For one of the first things in your inventory you will want to have a variety of Young Living Essential Oils to use in a ton of different things. If you want to keep it simple, you can put your oil of choice into a diffuser so you can give your spa area a calming scent as you pamper yourself. If you have different oils that you use in-home spa area massages, you can put a few drops of essential oil in those to give them a little customization. You can also use your essential oils in the making of different products for your spa cabinet, such as face masks, aroma stones and cuticle oils. With all of the different types of oils available on the market, the possibilities are endless. Do not be afraid to mix and match, as long as you are following the use directions. Since your essential oils usually come in glass bottles, please make sure to store them in a safe area so they do not get shattered.

Look Into Upgrading Your Tub

If your bathroom is the place that is also doubling as your spa area, you might want to look into upgrading your tub if you can do so. A lot of tubs tend to not fit a person comfortably, especially if the purpose of the tub is meant to be an oasis to soak in. Look into getting a large enough tub for you to comfortably submerge yourself, with room to spare. If you like jets, look into getting a tub that has them. If you like to have a couple’s spa days, consider looking into a tub designed for couples so you and your significant other can have a relaxing soak together. Also look into things such as flower petals, bubble baths or bath bombs, and epsom salts. Your bath should feel luxurious on your spa days, and it does not take much to make that happen.

Get Some Supplemental Equipment

Depending on the kind of spa that you want to create, there will be some extra equipment that you will want to look into getting. It will take some time and storage planning, but it is worth it for your ideal spa experience.

If you like just soaking your feet instead of taking a full-on bath for your spa day, a foot bath and epsom salts are a must. A lot of foot baths have a heating function and a vibrating function. Some foot baths have even more features such as infrared light and massage rollers on the bottom of the bath. After using the foot bath, you will want to clean it by using a non-abrasive cleaner or dish soap.

If you are into hot stones or cupping, you can get stones or a cupping instrument on the internet. However, if you go this route, you need to be careful. Make sure that the stones or cupping equipment come with instructions and that you follow those instructions. If they do not, it is recommended that you look up instructions or tutorials online. You do not want to attempt any of these things without knowing exactly what you are doing and what you are looking for.

If you can afford it, a massage chair is a worthy investment, especially if it is a full-body one. That way, even if you do not want to do anything else to prepare for a bit of relaxation, all you have to do is sit in that chair for as long as you want and have a variety of massages to choose from.

Having spa days are amazing, and if you can arrange to have a in-home spa area for yourself, it can be even better. Keep this article in mind the next time you are looking at having a spa day on a budget.
