How to Set Up a Fire Pit Table
Whether it’s on your own property or a client’s home, a fire pit is a perfect addition to any outdoor living space. They can help create ambiance and warmth while serving as an excellent centerpiece for outdoor entertaining.
The process starts with choosing the right fire pit. You can find them in a variety of shapes, sizes, and styles at your local home improvement store or online retailer, like Welcome Home Outdoors. Once you’ve selected one that will work for your layout, it’s time to install it!
Make sure when digging the hole for the base to have a 3-foot perimeter wider than the fire pit. Dig your hole to a depth of 16 inches and then, using sand as an adhesive, surround the base with sand.
You can save some installation time by opting for a precast tabletop unit. Simply set it on top of the sand that’s been poured into the bottom of your hole. To create your fire table, pour three inches of gravel into the bottom of the hole and then set the base of the unit in it.
Fill up around the base with more gravel to lock everything in place.
Short on time? No problem! If you’re pressed for time but still want to get an outdoor space looking amazing, consider hiring a professional to install your fire pit.
How to Decorate With Potted Plants and More
Once the hard part is out of the way, it’s time to decorate! You can create a relaxing ambiance with plants and flowers.
A good rule of thumb is to take your outdoor space and divide it into three. The first third is where your fire pit will be, the second third is for plants and outdoor seating, and the last third is for walkways.
Using potted plants to decorate your space will save you plenty of time. In addition to being low maintenance, they add a touch of class to any setup. You can use succulents or other cacti, tropical plants, or perennials.
Also, decorate your fire pit with candles or lanterns to add a romantic touch to the space.
