There are lots of different types of warts and many ways to get rid of them. You can boost your immune system by eating plenty of probiotic and vitamin-rich foods.

What are warts? And how many types are there?

A wart is a benign, small, hard growth on the skin.

* Common warts are usually found on the hands. You will see skin-colored, rough-textured papules.

Flat warts are usually found on the backs and legs of the hands. They appear as flat, yellow-brown, smooth papules.

* Intermediate warts are a mixture of flat and common warts.

* Periungual and subungual warts appear underneath and around fingernails and toenails.

How to get rid of Warts

1. Salicylic acid: is a topical, prescription-strength wart medication that works by removing layers of the wart a little bit at a time when applied regularly.

2. Cryotherapy is a long and painful treatment that freezes the wart with liquid nitrogen. This treatment is often combined to the salicylic acid. Side effects include swelling and pain.

3. Immune therapy: This is another type of treatment that uses medications or other solutions to boost your immune system to fight off viral diseases.

4. Minor surgery: This is when warts can be removed using an electric needle. After first numbing, the area will be numbed. There are many risks, including scarring, pain and swelling.

5. Laser treatment: This is when a powerful beam of light damages and burns wart tissue. It can cause pain and scarring.

Natural Ways to Get Rid of Warts

* Duct tape is safe and non-threatening for children, especially when used with them. After covering the wart with silver tape, soak it in water for 6 days. Then remove any dead tissue and leave the wart open for 12 hours. Continue this process until the wart is gone.

* Garlic and banana peels can be used on common, flat and plantar warts.

* (a) Slice a banana peel and place it on top of the wart.

* (b) Apply a thin layer olive oil to the wart and surrounding skin. Then, apply a thin slice fresh garlic to the area and secure it with tape. Repeat this process every night for three weeks. The patch will become black as the warts begin to disappear.

* Zinc- can also be used as an ointment to apply to the warts two times per day for three month.
