How to best see the ‘Universal City’? Take a Bus Tour!

Last Updated on February 24, 2023 by

Taking bus tours is the new way to travel nowadays. Gone are the days of packing more and more things to do in a single day of travel. The latest mantra is ‘Take it easy, take it slow’ and this seems to be gaining momentum throughout the world.

After all, who would really want travel fatigue when most of us take a break to escape just that – fatigue, whether from work or the normal daily grind?

Small-town feel

If you want to flee the big cities and want a leisurely time in a quintessential American small town, plan a trip to Bowling Green in the state of Kentucky. There are many, many fun things to do here and most travelers who take bus trips in Bowling Green, KY, plan their lazy itineraries well beforehand.

You can start your trip off from Lost River Cave located beneath the city – in an ‘air-conditioned nightclub’ of the 1930s, which is a secret underwater cave! You can cruise along its seven-mile-long river while marveling at its natural beauty. Another must-see spot is the Mammoth Cave National Park, situated nearby.

Then, you can head over to downtown Fountain Square Park to have fun unlimited with your family.

Car lovers will go bonkers over the National Corvette Museum which is the world’s only place where Corvettes are built. Take a factory and museum tour to marvel at the 70-plus cars on display.

A fascinating tidbit is, in 2014, a giant sinkhole about 30 feet deep appeared in the museum. It swallowed eight classic Corvettes! A few were recovered, and while some were restored, the others are displayed as found. Your kids (or even you!) can buy sinkhole sand from the gift shop here.

Can anyone think of taking bus tours in Kentucky without a tipple or two? Of course not!

Do add White Squirrel Brewery and Blue Holler to your place to-see list. These two craft breweries will add a dash of beery fun to your trip. You can chomp on peanut butter and jelly burger and wash it down with Irish Red Ale, IPA, the Amber, or Jalapeno Kolsch. A unique feature of White Squirrel Brewery is its stuffed real squirrels and mounted taxidermy heads.

Go for water fun at the Beech Bend Park, which is a raceway, a campground, and an amusement park combined in one. Apart from its numerous adventurous rides, you can enjoy the many special events held there, such as the weekly Friday Night Lights.

There are around 500 campsites here and about half of them support full-hookup RVs. You can bring along your furry friends too, so long as you don’t let them roam around unattended.

If all this is sounding super exciting to you and you are checking out ‘bus trip near me’, it’d be great to plan your sightseeing and discover adventures galore at Bowling Green. Book your trip today!
